The blessing of God is the empowerment from above to prosper, increase, multiply and have dominion on the earth. The blessing of God is so powerful that those that operate in it have victory in every area of life. When the blessing of God is in operation it brings wealth, health and supernatural strength to our lives. How do we get the blessing? The blessing comes from God and if you are a believer you have the blessing according to Gal 3:14 which says
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[h]), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
From the above scriptures, we are not looking to get the blessing because we already have it. The question now is why are we blessed and how does this relate to worship?
Let me answer the first question, we are blessed to dispense the blessing of God period. Simply put we are blessed to be a blessing to our worlds.
1 chronicles 23:13 addresses the second part of the question. It says “The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was set apart, he and his sons forever, that he should sanctify the most holy things, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to Him, and to give the blessing in His name forever.”
Aaron and Moses were from the tribe of Levi. The Levites were the priests of God that where the custodians of worship. If there was anyone who understood God’s heart as far as worship was concerned, it was the Levites. Aaron was the first Priest and the bible tells that he was separated to dispense the blessing as he performed his duty as a priest.
Worshipping God is a life line to the blessing of God. It is also a life line for dispensing the blessing of God. The blessing flows freely in an atmosphere of worship and reverence. The bible also tells us in 1 Peter 2:9 that “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
As priests and worshippers of God, our responsibility is to live a life that is constantly ministering to Him in Worship so that God blessing is continuously released to areas of need in our lives. Worship and the blessing go hand in hand. If you study the lives of the men and women that walked in God’s blessing, you will discover that like Aaron and Moses, they were individuals that knew how to reverence and worship God regularly. So let us seek to be dispensers of the blessing of God as we separate ourselves as priests of God. God bless you.
