My Thoughts About Worship

Worshipping God is not always easy, especially when things are not going well.  Adversity or disappointments in life have a way of preventing us from making room or space for God in our lives. When we allow these adversities to gain control over us it can produce an over-bearing strain that literally sucks out every desire in us to want to connect with God. We all have faced one adversity or another and believe me; I understand how painful it can be. However, when we face adversities in life, that’s the time to press on towards God worshipping and giving God thanks along the way. It might be difficult on our flesh or emotions but it pays off at the end.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 says “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

Have you lost a loved one or a job? Were you passed on for that promotion? Are you feeling like a failure? Be encouraged and declare boldly even with the tears in your eyes and the pain in your bowels that you will rejoice in the Lord and worship Him regardless. You see, God never said that there would be no pain; he never said that adversities would not arise but He told us to be of good cheer because adversities never last only God does. Make a decision today to maintain your joy, rejoice in God regardless of the pain, press in worship, open your soul to God and He will turn that mourning or adversity into a time of joy and gladness. God bless you.
