My Thoughts About Worship

God is on a search.  This is not a search for the most talented, the most gifted or the most perfect of individuals. This is not a search like “America has got talent,” or “American Idol,” where three individuals judge the performance of the participants to see how they rate. This is not a search to condemn you, not even a search to convict you, it is a search to communicate, commune and connect. It is odd to think that God is looking for people but He really is. God is searching for people who are searching for Him. He is searching for people who are after His heart.

David was such a man, he wasn’t perfect, had a lot of weaknesses but there is one thing that God could not deny, Davids heart for worship and most especially for God.

Acts 13:22 says “After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.”

Mike Murdock says “The evidence of desire is pursuit,” It was David’s longing for God, his burning desire to be in God’s presence that attracted God to him. God said, I have found David, I have found this man that’s been searching for me. Wow, that’s deep. This can be likened to the President of the United States paying you a visit and saying I have been looking for you, now come hang with me.

John 4:23 confirms this as well, Jesus said “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”

I find this to be intriguing, the fact that God is searching and looking for men and women that would be proactive in their desires for Him. Men and Women that engage God in true heartfelt worship that causes God to literally leave His throne to “Hang” with them. If you want God to look for you, then seek His heart as you worship Him and He will not be far away. God bless you.
